Wiki for News?

You might have heard of wikis. Webopedia defines a wiki as "A collaborative Web site comprised of the perpetual collective work of many authors. Similar to a blog in structure and logic, a wiki allows anyone to edit, delete or modify content that has been placed on the Web site using a browser interface, including the work of previous authors." And you may have heard of Wikipedia, which is an encyclopedia (under perpetual construction) built on a wiki. Now there's Wiki News, a site on current events built on a wiki. It's available at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikinews .

Well, it's sorta available. Right now it's at a "proposed project" status; a vote is available. You can go to the site and vote if you think it's a good idea. Visit the site to read the proposal, or go to the changes guide if you want to find pointers to a variety of wiki-relevant information.
